Experimental Holgaramas in New York City

These panoramas of images were captured on a plastic film camera, called a Holga, using an experimental technique referred to as “Holgarama.” Each images was created using an entire roll of film – 12 images each. Holding the camera, you capture the first frame, and then rotate your body a few degrees, capture the second frame, rotate your body a few degrees, capture the third frame, etc. Then when I got the film scans back, I stitched them together in Photoshop. The result is imperfect, with overlapping edges, and shifts in color and exposure, but that’s the fun of it! I love playing around with film and waiting to get it developed!
