I just adore Michelle & Conner! Can we just take a minute to admire how sweet they are together? (And, how extraordinarily stylish they are?!) Michelle & Conner met as graduate students at Columbia University, so it was only fitting we do their engagement session in the city where they met and fell in love. We started on the Upper West Side and made our way down to Madison Square Park, finishing our sunny evening together with a very unhealthy, but delicious dinner at Shake Shack. I can’t wait for your big day this fall!!

  • Helgi - beautiful as always!

  • Miranda Williams - Gorgeous! Love the outfits they chose. The colors work great with the blooming trees.

A nautical, summer wedding on the Long Island Sound? Sign me up!! Ana & Chris planned the most adorable wedding, filled to the max with gorgeous details and prettiness! Chris is the cousin of a past bride and I was thrilled to shoot another Gramlich wedding! Although the couple resides in Connecticut, and were married in New York, Ana has Minnesota ties, having grown up there. (So many of my clients have ties in both in states!) Thank you for inviting me to capture your stunning wedding day. A big thanks to my friend Amy, my east coast partner-in-crime, for shooting this wedding with me!

Tiff and Thor were married at the gorgeous Jedediah Hawkins Inn in Jamesport, NY. I hadn’t met Tiff & Thor in person prior to the wedding day, but they immediately felt like old friends since we’ve been Facebook friends since I shot Tiff’s friend’s wedding in 2008! Tiff also happens to be a portrait photographer based in North Carolina, and we’ve followed each other’s work over the years. Tiff & Thor wanted to host an intimate celebration with their closest friends and family and they couldn’t have had a more perfect day. They looked so happy and the details were so much fun! As usual, I found it nearly impossible to narrow down the photos since everything was just stunning. Thank you SO MUCH for including me in your celebration, and a special thanks to my friend Amy of Amy Rae Photography for driving up from Philadelphia to photograph this wedding with me!

  • Amy - SO BEAUTIFUL!! I am sure they are so happy with the photos!! All your photos turned out amazing!! Thanks for having me Laura!

  • Jessica - Laura I love this!! Gorgeous venue, lovely chalkboard details, and the ribbon kids are too cute! Beautiful!

  • Amanda - So happy for Tiff and Thor and so excited that you were able to capture their day! I totally understand why she wanted the best photographer to fly half way across the country to photograph her wedding! Beautiful job as always, Laura.

Bridget and Mike got engaged on the steps of the Lincoln Center when Mike surprised Bridget on a whirlwind weekend getaway, so it only seemed fitting to have their engagement session in the city that holds so many special memories for them. You  might not be able to tell from these photos, but we experienced the wackiest weather ever on the day of their session. It downpoured all morning, causing us to postpone until the afternoon. Then we we did start shooting, the temps were soaring and the humidity must’ve been about 99.99%. THEN, as we finished our session on the Brooklyn Bridge, a storm quickly rolled in and tornados touched down in Brooklyn. Literally. We scampered off the bridge to run for cover and the very second we found shelter, the downpours started again. So, it’s safe to say that Bridget and Mike are total troopers and up for anything!  In between location, weather and wardrobe changes, we stopped for drinks in an air conditioned dive bar we happened upon in the West Village (we had to, it was seriously so hot!) and later, we enjoyed cupcakes! Bridget and Mike, I can’t wait for your wedding next spring!

  • Amy - Awesome as always! Even with the threat of a rainstorm! Great work Laura!

  • Mary Jean Hertig - Totally Thrilled with how wonderful this happy couple looks!!! Very nice photos! I cannot wait for the WEDDIN!!!!

Happy Friday!! For the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing some personal images that I’ve captured illustrating the streetscapes of New York. I love wandering this city and documenting it on film. Check out past blog posts here, here and here.

  • Kendra - These are great, Laura! I love the lines mixed with the grungyness of film. SO Nyc! Also love the crazy cat tag. Great work, as always!
