EMPIRE STATE OF MIND

I captured this image on my Holga in September. I’m not quite sure what happened to this image (maybe some inadvertent sun exposure) but I sort of like the effect. A happy mistake, one of the many reasons I love shooting film! :) Happy Friday friends!!

Rachel - LOVE the affect! This is a piece of art my friend!

LORENA & ANDREW | BROOKLYN & LONG ISLAND WEDDING

I had so much fun at Lorena & Andrew’s beautiful Labor Day weekend wedding! I didn’t meet Lorena & Andrew in person before the wedding but they and their friends and family were so welcoming and a BLAST to work with. And, this group really knows how to party! I’ve never seen a dance floor quite as crazy as this one! I have to give a big thanks to my friend, Emily of Emily Dewan Photography for assisting me at this wedding!

EXPERIMENTAL HOLGARAMAS | NEW YORK CITY PHOTOGRAPHY

These panoramas of images were captured on a Holga using an experimental technique often referred to as “Holgarama,” basically meaning a panoramic image made by capturing multiple frames with a Holga. I love playing around with this technique and since the panorama is created by arbitraily advancing the film and slightly shifting my capture with each frame, the result is typically imperfect, with overlapping frames, and shifts in color and exposure. I love it! These are hard to see on the blog, so check out my Flickr page to see slightly larger images.

Jennie - These are beautiful Laura. I’d never thought about doing panoramas with a Holga, but they turned out great!

Julie - LOVE it!! Just like New York – grungy and beautiful.

s h e r r y - Ooh. These are RAD!

Mona Brown - Laura, these are really cool. I can imagine them framed and on your wall :)
