Meet the McCartneys!! ;) Kelsy & Butch are my friends and fellow photographers (amazing, amazing film photographers based in Wausau, Wisconsin) and I was so honored to capture this adorable duo for the second time! Since I first met them, they have moved back to Wisconsin, purchased a lovely home (seriously, get ready to be jealous!), and have a new furry addition to the family, who goes by the name of Parker James!  (I also think they may have gotten even more cute in the past two years, which I did not think was possible.)  I had so much fun with K&B on their home turf and they even took me to their favorite restaurant after our session!  K&B are such an inspiration to me, in so many ways. Beyond being skilled photographers and business people, they are just so darn in love.  They are best friends.  They are so fun to be around and so full of joy.  What an amazing quality to spread smiles and joy to everyone around you.  Thank you for the best afternoon, my friends!!

PS- My husband, pup, and I also had the honor of being photographed by the McCartneys!  It was so important to me to find a film photographer and someone I knew I could be relaxed around.  Trust is so important and I trust K&B 110%.  I haven’t seen the images yet (the downside of film is the wait, but it’s so worth it!!), and I hope to share those on the blog in a few weeks, as well as some tips I learned planning for my own session and being on the other side of the camera.  What a great experience! :)

ENJOY!!

  • MINNEAPOLIS LIFESTYLE SESSION ON FILM | LAURA & TODOR » The McCartneys Photography | FILM HUSBAND & WIFE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY DUO in CENTRAL WISCONSIN - […] that she would be on the other side of our cameras filled us with excitement. Just a few days after Laura visited Wausau for our session, we headed to Minneapolis to meet Laura, Todor & their sweet pup Bianca. We had a blast […]

Meet adorable Annie & Michael!  They reside in Marina del Rey, California and are planning their wedding from a distance, so I hadn’t met them in person prior to our engagement session.  We had chatted on the phone and via email and I knew they were a fun, vivacious couple, but when I met them in person, I really fell for this duo!  Prior to the session, when we were discussing styling, Annie emailed me a picture of her dress, and I knew instantly she had great taste! ;) This couple is as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside and I can’t wait for their wedding next August at one of my favorite venues, The Semple Mansion, with Lasting Impressions Weddings.  Thanks to the lovely ladies at Emily J for Annie’s hair and makeup for this session.

Bridget and Mike got engaged on the steps of the Lincoln Center when Mike surprised Bridget on a whirlwind weekend getaway, so it only seemed fitting to have their engagement session in the city that holds so many special memories for them. You  might not be able to tell from these photos, but we experienced the wackiest weather ever on the day of their session. It downpoured all morning, causing us to postpone until the afternoon. Then we we did start shooting, the temps were soaring and the humidity must’ve been about 99.99%. THEN, as we finished our session on the Brooklyn Bridge, a storm quickly rolled in and tornados touched down in Brooklyn. Literally. We scampered off the bridge to run for cover and the very second we found shelter, the downpours started again. So, it’s safe to say that Bridget and Mike are total troopers and up for anything!  In between location, weather and wardrobe changes, we stopped for drinks in an air conditioned dive bar we happened upon in the West Village (we had to, it was seriously so hot!) and later, we enjoyed cupcakes! Bridget and Mike, I can’t wait for your wedding next spring!

  • Amy - Awesome as always! Even with the threat of a rainstorm! Great work Laura!

  • Mary Jean Hertig - Totally Thrilled with how wonderful this happy couple looks!!! Very nice photos! I cannot wait for the WEDDIN!!!!

What’s not to love about Sarah & Ryan? They are the sweetest duo and I couldn’t stop laughing during their engagement session. Sarah is so full of life and her smile is truly contagious. She and Ryan complement each other perfectly.  We incorporated one of their favorite activities, biking, into their session. I was in love with their duo red, Scwhinn cruisers. Makes me want to add a cruiser to my bike collection (which only currently contains a road bike, albeit, a fantastic road bike!). Thank you for the amazing time!  Can’t wait for your big day, you two!
