A small preview from Kate + Kyle’s beautiful fall engagement session. It seems as though fall was far too short this year. We met for their session at Lake Elmo Park Reserve, which was a gorgeous secluded spot. K+K were so fun and laid back!

K+M are both pilots, so what better location for their engagement session than the airport? Mike got the hookup for use of a sweet Cirrus plane and K+M brought their beloved dog, Lexus along for the shoot. Have you ever seen a sweeter dog (excluding my doggie :-) )?! I had so much fun hanging with K+M+L and can’t wait for their winter wedding!

Love, love, LOVE the aviation stuff! 3rd from the bottom is smokin’! Wow! Really love the OCF too! Inspiring series!
You seriously wow me every post! I <3 the sunset photos, they arestunning. Also, the B & W photo with Mike standing next to wing is awesome. The plane, dog & details = awesome. The couple will be so happy. You rock my socks ;)
oh wow Laura, that looks like it was so much fun! And putting the ring on the dogs nose, very brave.
You are AMAZING! I love this session! Love the ring on the doggie’s nose and love the sunset shots! What a fun and unique idea for an engagement session.
I love these so much Laura!!! I have a friend who’s a pilot who just got engaged and I think she should do something like this with her plane! She lives in Texas though.
I am DYING over the shot of the ring on the dog’s nose. DYING OF LOVE.
I am in love with this session! Nice work…..
When M+L suggested the Minnesota State Fair for their engagement session, I was immediately intrigued. I love it when a couple chooses a place that has meaning to them and it’s always fun to get out and shoot at a new location! While we were there, I may or may not have eaten absurd amounts of greasy, unhealthy food (on a stick). ;-)
M+L, thank you for being up for anything. I can’t wait for your wedding next summer!

This shoot looked like a lot of fun! I <3 the statefair photos!
Laura, you really are incredibly creative. I love all your compositions, I love the way you see things. It looks like they had so much fun too! I want some ice cream.
The ice cream shots are so cute! They seem like such a fun couple.
I love these pictures. Their personalities just shine through.
I can’t believe J+R are getting married in under a month. Seems like I just met them and October seemed so far away… Hello fall!

Love the one of them on the dock kissing – so sweet! Was this at the Rose Garden? Beautiful!
The black&white one of them sitting on the branch is a killer. Great job as always…:)
Cute! Love the one on the dock. That last picture rocks too. I still think you were meant to be a landscape/travel photographer.
Laura, you rocked these! I LOVE the life guard only shot! Their interaction looks so genuine & down to earth in all of these! Gorgeous!
I met Jess + Zach at another client’s wedding last summer- Zach was a groomsmen. Immediately upon meeting Jess I recognized her and knew I knew her from the past. After a little investigation we discovered that my childhood best friend is her cousin and we probably played together as young children- how crazy is that? I run into the random-est, coolest people at weddings!
For Jess + Zach’s engagement session, they had a very special location in mind and I absolutely loved it when I heard the idea. Jess grew up in LeSueur, Minnesota and her family owns 80+ acres of farmland that has been in the family for generations. The land is complete with an old barn, tons of woods, fields and general beautiful rustic-ness! How could I turn down an idea like this? LeSueur happens to be in the vicinity of my hometown, so I got to sneak in a visit with my Grandma + Grandpa as well. Double bonus. We risked our lives foraging a dry creek bed, climbing in the loft of a decades old barn and trekking over a variety of poisonous plants (and maybe insects?)- but it was totally worth it.
I think it is so fun when a couple chooses a location close to their heart. Zach also wore a shirt that belonged to Jess’ late father, which I thought was really touching. They incorporated the family dog too! So many awesome elements were came together for this session. Not only that, but J+Z are so truly, totally in love. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a couple soooo into each other. They joked that their friends and family are always telling them to get a room! ;-)
Lastly, I heart Jess because we share a deep passion for J.Crew! One could even call in a borderline obsession. Jess described her wardrobe as “J.Crew sprinkled with random pieces here and there.” Soulmates! (I’m referring to me and Jess.) I can’t wait to see her J.Crew bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses! J+Z will tie the knot at The Round Barn in Red Wing, which is a venue I have been dreaming to shoot at. So excited!
Enjoy the images:

Eurgh, these are sickeningly gorgeous. I hate you :) Those two in the barn loft totally paid off – stunning light & ambiance, and again, I can’t pick a favourite from here because I love them all too much.
These are great, Laura. They remind me a lot of our session!
I agree, sickneningly gorgeous! Amazing work. And I love this couple’s style (:
