Ashley & Joshua were married on a chilly fall day in rural southwest Minnesota. We started the day at Ashley’s parent’s farm house, where the girls prepped for the big day. Ashley wore her mother’s refashioned wedding dress from the 1980s, which was such a sentimental, beautiful touch. In fact, the entire day was filled with unique details, including Grandpa’s old classic Ford, the cake baked by Grandma and more. Not only that, but Ashley, Joshua and their families are such kind, genuine people. From the moment we stepped in the front door, we were treated like family, and everyone was so sweet and caring throughout the day. Ashley & Joshua, I wish you a lifetime of happiness! Enjoy the preview!

I have a confession to make! It’s been a really, really long time (as in 2011) since I’ve blogged one of Whitney’s weddings. Yes, Whitney is out there, busy as a bee shooting weddings! We’ve both had jam-packed summers & falls, filled to the brim with gorgeous weddings. In fact, we’ve been so busy that blogging sometimes takes a back seat. However, I’m just dying to share this one. You may have noticed, that I love traveling! So when one of our Minneapolis brides informed us that one of her bridesmaids was getting married at a barn in Vermont, we cheerfully informed her that we travel anywhere! I mean, a barn wedding in the rolling hills of Vermont with one of the sweetest couples you’ll ever meet? Yeah, it doesn’t get much better than that! :) Maggie & Vinny booked Whitney for their wedding, but it turned out that I had that weekend free (rare for October!!), so how could I turn down being a part of this day as Whitney’s second shooter?
So, Whitney and I boarded a plane headed for Boston, rented a car, and navigated to New Hampshire (where the ceremony took place) & Vemont (home of the Alerin Barn) for Maggie & Vinny’s big day! Fall in Vermont? Perfect time to go!! Maggie & Vinny’s day could not have been more perfect, except for one minor detail. It rained. No, it really rained. It was overcast, and dreary, and by some stroke of luck, the skies cleared and we managed to sneak out for portraits between bursts of rain. For some couples this would’ve been less-than-ideal, but for Maggie & Vinny, the day was all about celebration, and I can honestly say Maggie was one of the most jubilant brides I have ever seen. She was smiling ear to ear all day and it seemed as though she could’ve cared less about the weather. Perfect example of how one’s perspective can manifest into everything around them. Because of Maggie & Vinny, the guests were all smiles, and it was one big party. Whitney and I had such an amazing time capturing their day and we can’t wait to see Maggie & Vinny and Maggie’s family in a couple weeks for Kerry & Eric’s wedding in Minneapolis!
Enjoy a few of our favorite images from this beautiful day! Congrats Maggie & Vinny- we couldn’t be happier for you!!
Gorgeous Laura just stunning. Great detail shots and the photo of the goat kills me. So cute.

Stella & Tim hosted such a unique celebration, centered around the ceremony that united them and husband and wife. The beautiful details were lovely (in fact, my assistant and I could not stop gushing about them all day), but the things that resonate most to me, were the moments during the ceremony when Tim wiped the tears from Stella’s face. It was the moments when they couldn’t stop smiling at each other. It was beautiful to witness. The ceremony was made even more personal, due to the fact that it was performed by Tim’s parents, who are pastors.
After the morning ceremony, guests enjoyed a delicious lunch, toasts and dancing to a 17 piece swing band! It was quite fun! I must give a huge, huge resounding ‘THANK YOU’ to Jennifer from Premier Planning Services and her husband for planning and coordinating this event. They couldn’t have possibly done a better job and I am so lucky to get to work with amazing vendors like Jennifer week after week. I also loved the incredible florals by Summer Harsh. So amazing!! Thank you ladies! And, thank you to Stella & Tim for entrusting me to document your day.

Laura, these are beautiful. I love all of the sweet details you captured. They look like such a happy, fun couple.
Absolutely wonderful photography, from beginning to end. The moment and colors were captured so perfectly on film.
When I commented how beautiful the light was, Steph decided to get dressed outside on her Mom’s deck.
That’s my kind of bride!
Oooh, Steph & John! Where do I even begin? Steph & John were so fun to photograph and Steph’s smile and laugh are just contagious. They put so much effort into planning a gorgeous, laid back celebration and the details were so well thought out. Plus, the food… ooh! You, dear blog readers, should’ve been there. It was divine. The music was amazing too! If anyone is looking for an amazingly awesome band, I highly recommend checking out CBO!
Beautiful! Love the portraits with the horse.
Laura, we absolutely love the photos and can’t wait to see the rest! Thank you for capturing our day!!!
Your wedding looks beautiful and you both look soooo happy! I love the colors of the flowers they were gorgeous.
Again, so gorgeous Laura!
Who catered the food? Every Eau Claire Wedding I do, I have a hard time finding a caterer who serves quality food, and carries good work ethics.
Love all of the pictures! Everything looked amazing, just what i am looking for my wedding. Where was this location? Who did the food? Any information you can give me will be helpful. Thanks a million
