blog_title_decoration2016 | ADVENTURES

“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”
– Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

2016 started and ended in Maui, which is a-ok by me!! In between, I didn’t collect as many stamps in my passport as I normally do, but several months this year were devoted to selling our old home, buying a new one (we struck out 7 times before we got an accepted offer on the one!!), and moving into a new studio space the very same weekend we closed on both houses. Needless to say April-July flew by in the blink of an eye. Before and after that, I had the opportunity to visit Cuba (which has been on my bucket list since the inception of my bucket list), the Cayman Islands (including puddle-jumping to Little Cayman), Phoenix, Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Boston, Cape Cod, Chicago (for Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour!!), The Bahamas, NYC, North Carolina, and finally, Oahu & Maui for my 4th annual birthday trip, though it wasn’t solo this year- I traveled with my entire immediate family!

2016 was also the year of new cameras. I found the perfect medium format film travel companion: the Mayima 6 (all the square images you seen below were captured on this camera). I also got a new iPhone 7+ (after being robbed in the Bahamas! Travel always keeps you on your toes!).

Now that life is back to normal, 2017 is sure to be an amazing year too! Cheers to lots of adventure!

blog_title_decoration2016 | A YEAR IN REVIEW

2016 was a good year!!! New house, new studio, 24 spectacular weddings, 48 of the sweetest brides and grooms a girl could ever ask for, countless other clients who got engaged, or welcomed new babies, or launched new and exciting businesses, an incredible community of vendor friends (what would I do without you all?!?), and a husband, family, and good friends who support me 100%. 🙌🏻

Thank you. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!! A million THANK YOUs would never be enough.

{For even more, take a look back at 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011.}

I originally met Maggie when she was a bridesmaid in Emma & Alex’s wedding. You know how you just connect with certain people? You click and feel like you have so much in common?! That’s how I feel about Emma, and Maggie, and their tribe of friends. (Probably doesn’t help that I’ve stalked them all online since ’14!) I was soooo excited when Maggie reached out to tell me the good news that she was engaged to a very dapper gentleman named Greg. These two, along with their pup, Max, are the sweetest little family! It certainly makes my job easy to work with couples that are so in love, and not afraid to smile, laugh, and have fun!

Maggie & Greg (aka #gregandpeg) had the most perfect wedding day. It was mid November, but the sun was SHINING bright and the temps were warm. They hosted a fabulous party at the newly renovated Lumber Exchange in downtown Minneapolis and kept their guests entertained with yummy food, a dessert buffet, and a jam-packed dance floor!
