blog_title_decorationDEDRA & ANDY | SEPTEMBER WEDDING AT IMS

Dedra & Andy!  Where to even begin? They’ll make you laugh and smile so big!  They’re the kind of people you feel like you’ve known forever. They’re the happiest couple and their love is just infectious.  And, man, did they celebrate their love with one heck of a party. They enlisted the help of Blush and Whim to coordinate their day and make it oh-so-beautiful. And, can we talk about these florals by Tara at A Day in Provence?  The details were gorgeous (obviously), but the best part of the day was two people promising forever to each other. After they were pronounced husband and wife, they threw their hands in the air, and the look on their faces said it all!  D&A, wishing you a lifetime of happiness and joy!

blog_title_decoration2015 | ADVENTURES

“Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable.” – Mary Oliver

Travel is my biggest joy and favorite hobby! When I’m not traveling (and really, even when I am) I’m constantly dreaming of, and planning my next adventure. There’s something so wonderful and exciting about exploring parts unknown. I would travel full time if I could (and still shoot weddings, of course! Can we make this happen?!)

2015 brought me to some really amazing places on this planet: Door County, Wisconsin (x2, to visit our amazing friends and the best photographers ever, The McCartneys), multiple wintery visits up north, including a trip to explore the frozen ice caves of Lake Superior (which don’t freeze over every year and allow for hiking by foot), San Franscisco/Big Sur/Carmel to shoot the most lovely wedding I could’ve ever imagined, NYC (x4 for more lovely weddings), Las Vegas to celebrate a dear friend’s bachelorette party, the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Chicago (x2 for even more lovely weddings), Norway to celebrate ten years of marriage with my husband (including a 4 day stopover in the Lofoten Islands north of the arctic circle- my first time experiencing midnight sun and 24 hours of daylight!), Budapest and a road/cycling trip through Hungary, Slovenia, Northern Italy, and Austria, Boston (for engagement shoots and to visit good friends), a road trip through Portugal and Spain for my 3rd annual solo birthday trip, and finally Maui to ring in New Year’s with my hubby and two of our best friends. What a year. Couple that with a year full of beautiful weddings; what more could a girl ask for?! I don’t have much planned for 2016 (yet), but that just leaves lots of room for spontaneity. Who’s up for an adventure?

blog_title_decoration2015 | A YEAR IN REVIEW

Ah, the yearly year in review.  I’m a little late.  Despite this being wedding photography off-season in Minnesota, I’ve stayed quite busy working on albums for all my 2015 couples, and booking newly engaged couples that are getting married in 2016 and even 2017. But I’m still high on the cloud of love that is Valentine’s Day, so it’s fun to relive all the laughter and hugs and kisses from last year while compiling images for this post. Finding images is easy, but I struggle with the perfect words. 2015 was a spectacular year filled with amazing couples with big hearts and lots of love.  Love for each other and for their friends and family. Being a wedding photographer has got to be one of the coolest jobs on the planet. You guys, I just love witnessing all this love week after week! Such a huge blessing. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
