I recently traveled to New York City to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Being the lady that I am, I won’t mention her age, but it rhymes with “dirty.” Anyway, since it was going to be a girls trip and I wouldn’t have my hubby around to carry my gear like I often do when I travel, AND inspired by fellow photographer/friend Jose, who made me travel to Florence, Italy with only one camera, I decided to pack light, brining only my favorite film camera.

Images captured on a Contax 645 with Fuji Pro 400H film.

helgi - stunning!!!…and you know me now, so shoot me an email and make your dream come true!! XOXO

Nicki - Hi Laura, love the photos! I’m a fellow Minnesotan turned Brooklynite, I’d love to hear any NYC photo plans you have, or if you need any rec’s on the city I’m happy to help. Glad you enjoyed your trip!

natalie - hoooooly crap I love these!!! Especially the black and white chelsea markets pics. And the one of us jumping turned out amazing!!! Let’s go back tomorrow!

Tiffany - Gorgeous! What is with the large pile of white shoes? Also the black flower dress(?)/romper(?) is adorable! :)

geneoh - amazing. love the color!

John Sharpe - Love these Laura, so jealous of your 645 and that you just took the one camera on your trip. I need to do somethign like that. BTW, what was with the white shoes…really liked that shot! Still haven’t been to NYC…need to get there.

Emily S - Love it! I totally want to visit NY.

Laura - Thanks everyone! The white shoes were adhered to a wall in a shoe store… a giant glob of decor/shoe art! Very cool!

@Emily & John- yes, you need to get to NYC

Stacy Able - ahhh gorgeous again but this time in film!! beautiful stuff Laura and looks like it was a super fun trip, too :)

Meet Des & Nolan! We were having really bad luck with scheduling their engagement session. It seemed that every date we chose ended up being a rainy, stormy day. I guess the third time is the charm, because we finally met for their engagement session on the HOTTEST day of year. Go figure! But Des & Nolan handled it like troopers. Even their doggie, Bear, got in on the photo action, although, I felt quite bad for him with his black fur. I was a bit worried the poor guy was going to pass out. When we finally couldn’t take the heat, we snuck into the Walker for refuge and freezing cold AC. Enjoy the preview!

jennie gaskins - love how airy their session looks!! and the dog tie is GREAT!!!

Glenda - Awesome Laura!

John Sharpe - Love this session! That first horizontal shot inside…is AWESEOM! Did you get a permit to shoot at the walker or snuck in? I’ve gotten kicked out of there before.

Laura - Thanks guys!

@John- Permit?!? Uhh, no, but we asked at the front desk if we could shoot there. It was SO HOT and I was practically melting… they probably felt bad for us, so they let us use the entry!

Amy - aww love the walker! miss MN so much!! what a beautiful shoot!

tasha - SO beautiful and full of life! Love it! You’d never know you were melting outside :)

Kristen Drufke - giggle-giggle. We had the same issue with a couple where we had to set up a time to meet like 6 times before we were able to make it all happen. lol. These photos were so worth it though! Love the ones in the Walker and with Bear. Great job Laura!

melissa oholendt - LOVVVVVE this couple’s style. They are gorgeous and their style is rocking. The Walker has to be one of my favorite locations for reals and I love how you used it!

I love this couple and I loved their session! We had so much fun out at my grandparent’s farm in rural Le Center, MN, and I loved the cool props that Kelsy & Butch brought along. They incorporated things they love doing together like drinking wine and Kelsy’s super fun vintage-replica bicycle. This lovely couple are past clients and I’m so happy they came back for more photo fun! Miranda contacted me wanting some fun couple photos, really for no particular reason- just their year and a half anniversary! Miranda had her hair and makeup done by Unveiled and was looking fabulous and Weston looked so dapper in his dress blues. Enjoy a mini-sneak peek of their session!

Stacy Able - love a guy in a uniform! always great stuff from Laura!! :)

melissa oholendt - I think this might be one of my favorite anytime sessions you’ve ever done. I can totally, totally feel their connection, love that.

I am so, so, SOOOO excited to be published once again, this time in the fabulous Minnesota Bride Magazine! Brides to be, and anyone in the industry, if you aren’t reading this magazine, I’d recommend rushing out and buying a copy of this magazine as soon as possible! Minnesota Bride is one of my favorite magazines and a great resource for anyone planning their area in the great state of lakes! One of my goals for 2010 was to be published in this magazine and so I’m so thrilled to have THREE features in the Fall/Winter issue!

Isn’t the cover fab?

First up, Jill & Matt’s beautiful winter wedding was chosen to be featured! You can check out more of Jill & Matt’s wedding photos here. Jill & Matt put a ton of time and effort into hosting a amazing affair with tons of beautiful details and I loved being a part of their big day.

My photographs were also featured for a great article on farm weddings. All of the photos featured are from Jess and Zach’s gorgeous, rustic wedding at the Round Barn Farm in Red Wing, Minnesota last fall. I absolutely LOVE farm weddings, and if you’re planning a wedding at the Round Barn Farm, I am dying to shoot there again! Jess was interviewed for this article and there is a ton of great advice, so pick up a copy of the magazine and read for yourself!

Lastly, I was interviewed for an article on boudoir photography, and my photos from Sandra’s session were featured! Because of the private nature of boudoir sessions, I don’t blog a ton of my work, but boudoir photography actually makes up a HUGE part of my business and I shoot a TON of boudoir sessions, so it was an honor to be interviewed. The article highlights a variety of FAQs about boudoir sessions and gives lots of helpful advice from women who have actually had boudoir photos taken and industry professionals. By the way, Hana from Mani Mela, is responsible for Sandra’s hair and makeup, and boudoir clients or brides-to-be, if you’re in need of an awesome hair and makeup artist that comes on site for you, I love working with Hana!

Tiffany - Congrats Laura!! You deserve it :)

Jason Thon - It looks great Laura. Congrats on the features, you deserve it!

Whitney - Nice job!!!! I’ll have to go buy the magazine to read the article now =)

McKenzie at Engageology - Way to go Laura – 3 times in 1 month!

Stacy Able - ahhhh such awesome news!! You totally deserve it your work is flawless!

Crystal - This is a great announcement- I am pumped for you! The details and pictures are perfect on each. I can’t wait to pick up a copy :)

Sherri - This is fantastic – way to go Laura!!

Amanda - I am so proud to say that you were my wedding photographer, Laura! You are simply amazing!

Amy - Way to go girl!!! I know these were big things that you were aspiring for!! Way to go get it! Can’t wait to see what is next for you!
