CHICAGO ROAD TRIP | INSTAGRAM

In honor of St Patrick’s Day, a small group of friends and I decided to hop in a car, road trip to Chicago and celebrate. Now, I must confess, I’m not normally big on celebrating St Patrick’s Day; I mean, I’m not Irish in the least, and it’s just typically not on my radar, but Chicagoans take this holiday really seriously. Like, really. You can’t help but get in the spirit in this city! We had a good time out on the town and practically everyone we met had traveled to Chicago (from New York, LA) just for the occasion.

It was fun to partake in the festivities, but rather than sharing pictures of people dressed in green, drinking green beer, I want to share little bits and pieces of the city. I love cities and their architecture. Chicago is one of my favorites. I decided not to bring my “real” cameras and instead decided to document the weekend soley using Instagram, the most awesome app ever invented. Are you on Instagram?! Follow me @lauraivanova.

Jodi - Whiskey Tail Foxtrot:) Good times.

WINTER WONDERLAND | BABY HUGH

I feel like I should preface this post by stating the fact that I don’t photograph babies! I love babies, and I think they are adorable (especially this baby!) but photographing them is an art form in itself and it takes much skill and patience to be a successful photographer of this genre! I know so many talented photographers that excel in this area and I respect them so much because I feel like it’s so very challenging!

That being said, how could I resist this little guy?! A few weeks ago when a fresh coat of snow was falling over the beautiful city of Minneapolis, I posted on my Facebook page that I was dying to do a winter wonderland shoot. When past bride, Kristi posted that she and husband and baby would gladly volunteer as models, I couldn’t resist! We met that very day and spent 15 (cold) minutes capturing their beautiful family in the snow! Little Hugh is already as stylish as Mom and Dad and a natural model! I just wanted to share a few of these images on my blog. You can also check out Kristi & Kevin’s engagement session and wedding day, both of which were featured on Style Me Pretty (here and here!).

Thank you for everything Kristi, Kevin and Hugh! :D

FEATURED | WISCONSIN BRIDE BLOG

Remember this gorgeous wedding I shot last summer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin?  Candace & Mike are the sweetest couple and planned such a fantastic celebration!  They are seriously so genuine, caring and obviously have friends and family who share their same traits that make Candace and Mike such a joy to be around!  I loved the unique details and colors of this wedding and I’m so excited to see my client’s wedding featured today on the Wisconsin Bride Magazine website.  Wisconsin Bride is published by the same creative geniuses behind Minnesota Bride (and Seattle, Arizona and Oregon Bride), so I’m sure many of you are already familiar with this publication.  If not, head on over to WI Bride and check them out immediately, or even better, pick up a copy of the stunning magazine!

Thanks to Candace and Mike for sharing your wedding and to Megan at WI Bride for the beautiful story and feature!
