2013.  If I could only use one word to summarize the year, it would be grateful.  I am so grateful to my husband, my family, my friends, my team, and my clients who support my business.  My little dream that turned into an immensely satisfying, fulfilling career.  I feel so grateful for the trust my clients place in me.  For the invitation to be a part of such a joyous day in their lives.  It’s a gift.  I feel very lucky.

2013 was also a challenging year.  Personally I faced a loss that still hurts.  But, it brought two new joys into my life. I may have worked a bit too much, and neglected my husband at times! I’m continuously working on finding balance in my life.  I road tripped through the deserts of California, journeyed to Italy (for an incredible wedding), embraced my muffin top (!!!) in Montreal, took my first big solo trip (not counting studying abroad in college), made an emergency trip to NYC for Christmas (to have dental work done, not fun!), and explored a few other little places.  I photographed weddings in Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, Capri, and lots of small towns, and woodsy, up-north destinations in between.  I had a blast with my team.  They make road trips and plane rides way more fun.  Whitney, Mandi, Jesi (and Jill, even though you’re not around as much anymore!)- you’re the best!!

I wanted to share a few images from all the sweet couples we had the privilege of photographing this year.  Heart = full.  Love to you all!!

PS- Check out 2012, 2011 and 2009!

Meet Teryn, Ian, and their adorable pup Mya!  I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this family for the past three years and I absolutely love them!  We have a mutual love of wine + cheese, dogs, and home decor!  Teryn is a fellow photographer (and an amazing one at that!) and it’s been so fun getting to know each other over the years.  Enjoy this little fall session!

Oh, fall.  It seems like a distant memory given the chilly winter temps happening right now in Minnesota!  One of my favorite things about fall is all the fun engagement sessions and weddings I get to photograph during this beautiful time of year!  Tanya and Matt wanted to take advantage, and luckily, we had a perfect, crisp day.  They brought along their adorable pup, Ansleigh, and we explored the Silverwood Park.  Tanya and Matt are getting married in summer of 2014 and I’m already counting the days.

Mary Beth & Fred are getting married! The happy couple chose to do their engagement session at Fred’s family home in Long Lake. Fred even asked Mary Beth to be his wife on a romantic snowshoeing expedition through the woods in this very spot. During their session it rained on and off, but Mary Beth and Fred were all smiles and laughs and even practiced their dance moves in front of the camera! Of course, they brought along their adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for some family photos! Cutest trio around!! Congratulations and I cannot wait for your wedding next summer!

Susan & Jon were married at the gorgeous Pierre Hotel on the Upper East Side.  They had the perfect September day for photos at Central Park, then the sweetest ceremony. After that, it was time to celebrate and they hosted perhaps once of the most lavish, yet fun parties I’ve ever attended!  This group seriously knows how to have a good time.  Enjoy the preview!!

  • Anni - These are lovely, beautiful work!
